The walk is done!!! YAY! - I can now say I've walked Hadrian's Wall and raised a good amount og money in doing so (thanks to the peeps who donated *huggles*)

Lol - I will do a proper post tomo - and include some of the piccys I took (lots of sheep, cows and clouds) - the weather was generally very nice - luckily for us - no walking on though the wind and rain - though we all managed to get more than a little sunburned!

Now I just have to catch up on some sleep (in a bed! oooooo - the comfort ;)) and then catch up on everything that's gone on while I've been off trekking.

Am in a small inn on the side of the road in northumbria - having finished one of the shorter days of our walk *phew*

We're down to four of us now - due to a few different things - and two groups - I got ill cos of stress - but the two groups has made it a little better (thank god)

As of today we are half way through - only a little way to go......

We had a hell of a lot of hills today (we stopped just short of the highest point - steel rigg) - it's been fairly flat previously.

The views almost (well they do) make it worth all the sweating and yelling (and cursing when you get over one hill - with it's near vertical rise - no joke - then see the next one and so on *g*)

So - still alive - but a little battered and more than a little tired!

Will post again when I'm home (or when next find available internet!)

In regards to the upcoming charity walk of Hadrian's Wall - we finally managed to sort out a justgiving website for sponsorship - so if any of you are interested in sponsoring me/donating to a good cause the page is here: http://www.justgiving.com/archaeologygirls

There's a link to our blog too on the site(with it's first entry done too *is accomplished*)

On second viewing, Iron Man is still one of the best films I've seen in a while (the best comic adaption in AGES IMHO)- and it was fun seeing it with someone who hadn't seen it yet - watching reactions and such (there was some clutching and gasping during the tense parts *lol*)

and now comes the cut, for a few little spoilery comments... )

The practice walk went well (even if the top of my legs and my lower back muscles really hate me at the moment *winces*) and we managed about 7 miles with the rucksacks easily enough - so tis good.

Saw Iron Man today with [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon as a b-day pressie and GOD that's a good film - I had a few fangirly moments (and spotted the guy who plays Tomin *coughs*) - and for anyone wanting to go see - wait till the end of the credits *nods*

So yes - am going to go see again wednesday - hopefully *crosses fingers*

I'll do a proper reviewish post then - my brain is still dealing with the squee now - lol :)
