Today is an early start - of five days of walking.

I, and the rest of the family, with a dog each, am walking the Hadrian's Wall Path (to raise money for Macmillan, in memory of Grandma who died last year - http://www.justgiving.com/teams/huskiesonthewall).

We're starting at Newcastle end, and finishing at Carlisle end - and I intend to document as much of the walk as possible ;)

I'll have intermittent wifi - and get emails to my phone - if there are any pictures of Hadrian's Wall you want to see, let me know, and I'll try and get them in my documentation of the crazy hike ;)

I hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend, whether it's just a holiday, something you celebrate or just another weekend.

Sorry I've not been around much - between work and puppies, I don't spend much time online. (Work 7.30-15.30 - with about 45min travel time either side - puppies get fed at 4 and 8, with time out at 10 - spend an hour out going crazy - we're down to three feeds a day now though (c7, c12, c7) so shouldn't be so crazy - but walking starts for the little one in a week, so.....yeah afternoons = busy)

Have today off (second vaccination day, so I figured, use flexi time I have and take a day to be lazy ;))
*smishes you all*

I have a tonne of writing to get done (my polybigbang fic? The pairing I seem to now be writing, ummmmm, I have no idea) - also Sign ups for arists for the Leverage Reverse Big Bang are now open at [livejournal.com profile] thebigbangjob ;)

And now for this week's tv reactions - well, castle and criminal minds (not sure how I feel re: once upon a time and grimm yet - still liking Terra Nova - and I need to catch up on Lost Girl)

Castle reactions, for this week and a little for last weeks )

-

Criminal Minds - episode six - a reaction in points )

*sighs*

Ok - so - my internet and googlemail have issues with one another apparently *g* - if you email me/respond to any comments I make and I don't answer, it's because I'm still not able to get to my googlemail account *pouts*

Also - I fail at editing (I have spent an insane amount of time editing one bit, then going on facebook to play scrabble with random people/watching Threshold (OMG!BRENT! *coughs*)....oophs?) it will get done before I go to sleep though *nods*

Big news at current - Tahnee (younger of the two girl huskies) is pregnant (I do not get to see this for myself - but mother has promised photos) and due mid-march, so come easter I plan to run off home and spend two weeks squeeing over mini!puppies, oh and finally getting my eyes tested and hopefully going to see 'How to train your dragon' (I have not been to the cinema in a while - one because it was snowing when I was at home - two because the idea of going to the cinema alone to watch kids films is kinda o.O I may make an attempt this weekend, in an effort to avoid doing reading (it's reading week - I have done no reading....or anything really BAD WEASEL - I foresee a few hours in the arts and social sciences library tomo))

so in short PUPPIES!
that is all ;)
weaselett: (ds - dief - look)
We got a new book on siberians recently (the old one is ancient now - I was amazed when I found a toy that was advertised in it - even if it now looks completely differnt *g*) - it's very american - and very entertaining to go though, especially now we're veterans of siberians - they have us very well trained (well apart from Ma - who thinks that she should be able to have a nice garden AND three huskies o_O)

I've had these pics sat on my hardrive for a little while now (I know this because Puppy is not so puppy sized these days *g*)- so I figured I should share them ;)

Look at the cute little boy awwww - beware though - don't get too close - he stinks of poop *sighs dramatically* - book says 'huskies do not have a doggie odour', no they don't, lakota however, has a poop odour because he likes rolling in unmentionable stuff *head desk*

Am rather bored (no job yet *pouts*) - so have been reading an insane amount of both fan fiction (mostly Torchwood) and more books than I've read in a long while. *g*.

Have now read 'The Time Traveler's Wife' which is a really good book (was hooked by the first ten pages - and the first half is sooooo good - the second half is lightly less so, but still good *nods*) - and I can now say, Moffatt has read it *nods*, why do I say this? Well...*points at River* yeah - will have to go see film at the end of the year *nods*

Also - The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman *love* (Silas owns the world *nods*)

Otherwise, life in the house is more interesting at the moment as Tahnee is finally in season and in her third week. She's having a hard time of it poor girl, but she's also regularly getting fed up with how much Lakota fails, though in his defense he's only four months old, and she's taller than him......
But *yay* hopefully we'll get everything shorted and in six months time we'll have a pregnant Tahnee and then PUPPIES - but I may not be here *pouts*
(anyone want to see pics of how big the little boy has gotten? he hasn't lost his puppy markings yet - and may not - his eyes have settled now though - an odd shade of brown)

-

I seriously FAIL at writing thus far, I still have a long way to go on my Tardibigbang fic *winces* - but hopefully will get going again soon *crosses fingers* - it's my own fault mind, deciding on a plot line that requires research (on a subject that it damn hard to find books *mutters*)

I have also signed up to [livejournal.com profile] genderbendbb - but I think I'll do better on that one (thinking of doing Iona - over the other Torchwood genderbender am working on, as it doesn't require half the research, thankfully).

But yes - much writing to be done...

This little fellow is my news :)

lakota - face on lakota - face on

He's the newest addition to the household and he's just eight weeks old. He's called Lakota and he is an evil cute little demon ;)

He's also occupying much of my time (me being the assigned babysitter)

So there may very well be tiny husky puppies on the horizon!
The puppy (she's not even 1 yet) is in season and Tala, being Tala, has followed suit (after two years of nothing following her first season - which we think was due to Nahani being the alpha girl dog).
Hopefully *crosses fingers* if Tahnee comes into season again in 6 months (or there abouts) time we can start looking seriously for a stud dog (one for Tala too if it continues) - and then PUPPIES *dances* ok so with the timing this means I'll be doing my masters then though, so not at home *pouts* but it'll be a first litter and I don't think ma could deal with two litters of puppies at the same time alone so..... :D

On the downside it means the girls are rather disgusting to be around at the moment - and me and my barefeet have much to avoid *lol* - but still puppies are GOOD

I finally gave in and hunted down Ranma 1/2 to watch - and ;D - I loves it (the first season was the best) it's really funny - though when I told ma about it she made it clear that in her mind it just affirms my weirdness - the fact that a number of the voice actors for it are from stargate also entertains me (sarah strange aka. morgan is Ranma's voice - and Teryl is the voice of an insane girl who fancies Ranma).

I've been cooking again - steak and ale pie (the kitchen smelt of ale all day *g*) which turned out well, plus coconut macaroons (for ma) and chocolate brownies. Still have to figure this oven out for times and temps though, even when I lower the heat it still takes less than half the time it's meant to for things to bake *sighs*.

Also - am off down south again next thursday to visit the grandparents - plus we're going to see too musicals *yay* :)

Sadly no work on TTTB - sorry!! - i really do want to work on it, it's just getting the begining right, and not panicing and considering rewriting equilibrium, the truth is my security blanket as far as my fics goes isn't there anymore, so its a BIG challenge. Also, this week/weekend isn't the best for me, any given year, so, yeah.... but promise that i will get it done..this year (the end of May till August - i am free, no work or anything, so it will get done) lol. Another factor working against getting any of TTTB done is the other muses. Have been considering things, and i may start on one of them until i get TTTB completely straight in my head.
Am going to see 'Eight below', but at the moment it looks like i'll be going on my own, as no-one else is much interested in going to see a film about dogs - may also see 'Tristan and Isolde' on wednesday - the day before the stats test *head desk* - but if anything is likely to get the TTTB muses going, it's that, even if it turns out to be a really bad film. lol.
Sharpe - in full - was good - but couldn't hide the fact it wasn't based on any of the books - or at least the fact that used pieces from three of the others (which where set 10 years early) or that they ignored set 'canon' *pouts* the biggest one for me was near the very begining of the first half. *shakes head* There was email debate between me and da - i haven't read the starbuck chronicles yet so da has poking points. lol.
But yeah - me is boring - and has no good fics to Rec at present - glares at archives - bring me good new things damn you!! (i just have toooo much time don't i? *blushes*)
It the old one's b-day on sunday - but can't send chews in the post - dang. Also can't get the 'rents to take her with them when they go to see eight below firday - cos dogs ain't allowed - even if they may want to see there relatives. lol. loves me huskies. 'spec Nahani. *nods* old better than tiggery pup.
