due South

There really isn't any other episodes of any TV show that hit as damn hard as Victoria's secret.

We have a new puppy (white husky *heh*) - I found due south on freeview to watch in the kitchen while minding the terror, innocently thinking yay due south.

AND OF COURSE it's Victoria's Secret.

Fraser's confession story. Sarah Maclachlan. THE WHOLE STRUCTURE. THE FEELS.

If you've never seen it, it's a defining character studt set of two episodes, and if you care about the character it will BREAK YOU.

AND the show remembered it. There was a third episode following up, and references later.

Just, due south and leverage. The two shows that just. Went hard, character focused while still having good plots. *gasps*

.....episode 1x02 and well. Dear other TV writers who seem to be struggling with this, that episode? Would be how you write a B story about the characters lives alongside the main A story - though in the case of that ep *giggles* ummmm yeah (the end of the ep, was half giggling and half *face palm* how did I not see THAT coming *heh*)

Still - I is liking Terra Nova (I'm weird - I like circular plots (aka where what is happening in the 'present' is the reflection of something in the 'past' so the story 'runs full circle' in a way) and I like stories are that BOTH character focused and plot focused (so a B story about an issue the character is having, echoes the A story) - CM used to be good at it (and often v subtle). Castle doesn't always do a full B story. Lost Girl does it, or just does another thing I like of having a subplot a character, which leads back into the main plot at some point, not nessecarily in that ep)

Basically this is just a little moment of me squee-ing over a new show that I may adore. (Lost Girl, I need to catch up on - Haven I am all caught up, ditto Castle (*hearts*) and Criminal Minds - am poking at Flashpoint (mid season 3) and Warehouse 13 (I'm up to season 3) as well as Middleman).

OH and my puppy is called Athena (we gave them all Greek myth based names - well I gave the parents a list of titans and gods - and the parents picked the ones we like - the other two pups we have yet to sell are Selene and Apollo (who we call Polly.....a lot *heh*) and they're the pale ones of this litter, who looked v alike when they were tiny)
