Now - my wishlist: (if you have one, link me to it and I'll see what I can do ;)):
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a ____ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friends list (or friends-friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream pure bred Basset Hound for free--do it.
- You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out,it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
- There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Charity Stuff
aka don't spend any money on this weasel, spend it on other more needy beasts
-donate to one of your local animal shelters/cats protection league/rspca - they doubtless have lots of mouths to feed :) (if you don't like giving money - there are a lot that will take food donations direct - you also used to be able to drop cans into a box at some pet shops that would then get sent on)
-donate to any charity you want: be it childern in need, one of the cancer charities, pick one you like and donate something
Fandom Stuff
aka stuff for weasel ;)
-ART - for any of my stories or just a header/icon featuring something I like (I want a Data icon so bad - but there are no pretty ones *pouts* - that and a Rick Castle icon or Alexis, or Rick and Alexis.. *nods*)
-Fic - if someone would write me fic involving one of the following I would adore you :)
+Torchwood: Alien Possession, Tosh and/or Ianto (bonus if it's bodyswap possession)
+Torchwood: Shapeshifters, any kind of shapeshifter (one of the team or an outsider)
+Torchwood: Dual possession of a body (ala SGA:Duet)
+Supernatural: Anything with the girls (without the boys, or with them, I do not mind
but the girls do not get enough love) - Jo, Ellen, Bela, Tamara, Mary
Crossover fic is also, as ever, very very welcome :)
-Comments on my fic - this is a terrible thing to ask for I know, but I have written two epic fics in the past that never got any comments and the neither of my big bangs got many comments - so yes - I am being lame ;) feed the monster (negative comments are as welcome as positive :))
