Author's Note: A rather odd AU story….that will most likely never be posted anywhere else but here on my journal. Beta’d bycharlies_dragon all the same. Lol.
Sometimes he wishes he’d never said yes, that he’d stayed back home where it was safe, where he didn’t know his patients and wasn’t living in a war zone.
Sometimes he wishes that she hadn’t come, that after the war with the Ori had ended she had left, gone somewhere that she would be safe, somewhere she didn’t have to fight in a war.
Sometimes he wonders about what their life would have been like, if they’d been different people, if they hadn’t been so curious.
Then she smiles at him that way, presenting him with the latest of her ancient treasures, eyes shining with the light of discovery and he remembers why he’s still fighting.
