So - I'm going to focus on writing for a while now - and avoid posting too much - until i stop crying at the random thoughts that come into my head. So, i'll get this off my chest and then i will be....silent until the next thing *sighs* Because, seriously, that may be a little while, those plot holes - are not pretty at all. Any other time, any other place. *sighs*
And there was me thinking i wouldn't be this bad - because like, it was sooo expected. At least for me. The problem is, every other time my favourite character has died, it's been good, without plot holes.
Yeah - i hated losing Doyle, but it made sense, and really, an ep like that for Carson, would have made it so much easier, and better.
Fred *meep* - i like Illyria, but it was fred that got me back into angel properly after Doyle died. It was said, but she was still there somehow.
Data - B4!!! *flails* but it was completely understandable, again. *sighs* Bugger.
No the thing that's getting to me now, about Sunday, is The Daedalus. Yup. The Daedalus. Does anything more need to be said?? Every other plot hole, you can kinda ignore (ok so, the exploding tumor thing is just - gah - how DID that actually get written??) and the fact that everything comes down to the ancients - this highly advanced race - not leaving instructions - or at least a WARNING - behind - which, really, come on. You don't leave deadly objects around where the children can touch them. *rolls eyes*
But yes - *death glare* damnit TPTB should have explained THAT. Because, even if they do it in a later ep - it's still the fact that all the holes are just going to make the already (in a few cases entertainingly irate) fans even worse. I've been on the Gateworld forum - a place i rarely venture, cos, well it's just SCARY, but good for entertainment sometimes. (Someone posted to the Anti carson weir thread - and they seem to think Ronon is carson....) - because, i needed to know i wasn't the only person and WTF is going on with the rest of it.
*sighs* i Heart Jewel, seriously, and i have no intention on taking any of this out on her, and i will defend/smack anyone who does. This isn't her fault. Nor is it Amanda's and in all honesty neither of them seem overly joyful about the new jobs, not under the circumstances.
But it's gonna be hard not to see hate their characters, because, they're there and Carson isn't. Plus, 24 year old head surgeon.....ummmmm....how about NO. *rolls eyes* Plus - being British (born in norfolk, raised in Cornwall and Moray) i find it more than a little annoying that Grodin AND Carson are gone. And no new multinational people are being added. To what is meant to be a multinational team.
Leaving us with Zelenka and......ummm, those background peeps, and lots of americans with a few canadians. *groans* A spunky new european doctor would have been great, it wouldn't have made it completely right, but it would have been better.
But - if i'm still watching (we'll see how submersion goes...and if i can actually watch without having too many - and now carson.....*meep* moments) i'll try my best to give the characters a chance, for Jewel and Amanda's sakes.
Also - must resist the urge to randomly hug David at any point during either the screening OR the convention - no matter how much i might feel he deserves it after all of this.
