weaselettWhat would be really nice would be coming off the net today and not coming back for a week and actually finding that something had changed -i'm not being horrible to peeps, it's just that this year seems to have been such a very slow year in fandom - whether it be cos of all the changes and stuff, i don't know, but there have been a lot less long fics around this year, and i'm getting so few emails from fanfiction.net
more due to my weird lengthy typage behind -
- stargate atlantis is growing through this year, as is to be expected for such a 'young' show, but it's kinda of a bit of a downer how the stargate fandom online has been, sooo quiet *sigh* but it happens. Hopefully now there's the whole new 'feel' to the show, once it's finished it's run everyone will be all active again, even if little me ain't gonna read it. cos i haven't seen it yet. lol. i'll see it eventually through, and hopefully jack's loss won't throw me off my muses... shouldn't, but you never know *head desk...um bed*
lol - anyhoo, have now caught up to the end of season one of atlantis, even if i did miss two eps (letters, and the eye) but still have two or three eps of charmed, and four ish of miami (we taped some we missed before i went to uni, so i have to find them). the final ep was good, but the cliff hanger wasn't sooo, cliffhangery, if you understand my insane descritive thing :S, i'm not all shocked or Oh god what's gonna happen?y. i more, oh- okay then, i'll wait till that gets finished. it's like when i get a writer's block and have no idea where the muses are going to take me. ala the very beginning of equilibrium, i had a totally different plan for that fic, but it didn't work, so it changed and it worked. or at least i hope it did....
lol - yeah, i didn't get all JKR through, no crying, none, not while writing it, cos, i hate to say it, but it's real hard to write while crying. (plus i only cry when ppl ..spoiler...die pointlessly) and i have yet to write someone dying pointlessly, in life and fic ppl do die pointlessly, the difference is, in fic, the 'pointless death' has a point, like in tht ep of xena when gab's friend dies? there was a point, characters learn from different things, be it death of a companion, death of someone they didn't like, etc, they learn, but it still pays to have it actually be a death. you don't have them vanish into a hole and die, cos, maybe they aren't dead, and how do the character's come to terms with it? BUT if the hole is known to be a bottemless pit, or leads somewhere (ala Merry Gentry or Lord of the rings) there's something there. but yeah i get what i mean even if nobody else does. i hate doing stuff in fic or stories to the characters, minor or otherwise, that makes them less in anyway. characters should be whole, even if it's dead whole. lol. ignore that your better if you do - it's one of those days....lol
