lol -after a day of tidying prior to 5 hours on a train tomo - need to randomly vent about stargate Canon on the ancients...and nitpicking - but i'm going to cut it for those who don't care :P

the whole ancients created human life thing? bugs the flaming hell out of me. It wouldn't be so bad, if it didn't frack with the reality so badly - am getting sorely tempted to send one of the human evolution texts i'm reading for my course to the writers, cos human life, didn't just appear a million ish years ago - nu-uh, and so as to make this clear, 'modern' humans have been around longer than that too, so it's not like they can use that as an excuse *pokes peeps* - and it's not just that, it's their evil use of history (sorry to any non brits/europeans out there..) especailly english and european history, which they don't really understand too well, espec the arch side of it. Merlin is too young to be an ancient, as have said before, so their use of arthurian legend, pisses me off, its one of my fav bits of historic fun, and i feel a little pissed off about how they've treated it. IF merlin were an ancient, what the hell was the lady of the lake? i mean comeon, even merlin in the myths was nothing compared to her. a superior humaniod species to the ancients? plus there the evil girl, who would, presumably according to their use, be an Ori? or what?
They ignored a good half of the arthur tales, and the evidence that is just begining to be found to support the different theories - including Merlin being a druid, and Arthur a romanised briton, or a briton warlord - or one of the riff-raff that was running around between hadrian's wall and antonine's, checking back the scots. *head desk* i'd be fine with it if they let it make sense and work within the history of the world. but nope - they do the tyipcally american thing and run wild with it *sigh*

nitpicking moment - did anyone else notice the vanishing pillow in Threads? cos i can't stop noticing it!
