It is finally a sunny day here!
Poking at Mummy fics on AO3 and a bunch of 2017 Mummy fics have invaded o.o (Have been working on a selection of mummy fics, and I always do the poke to see what there is thing) EDIT: I am kinda disturbed my how many Alex O'Connell/Imhotep fics there are o.O
I also have two exchanges to work on....
The dog is 6 today! Which is craziness, still doesn't feel like that long ago that I held the biggest tiny thing for the first time! (She was born in this house and we have her parents so....never not had my pup). We have her youngest littermate as well (our youngest four and two girls from each littler, so joint birthdays!)
Feeling a little more optimistic than I was earlier in the week (and thanks for comments) though it has been a week of bad/frustrating. I miss saner peeps being around. (And keep contemplating the best way to inform people to clean up after themselves please, I am not doing it for you every dang time). I also managed to have an epic nosebleed first thing thurs when I was only person in to clean *face palms*
I am really hoping next week is better....and I have poked around and found a few more things to apply for, which look exciting, I just have to not get invested while writing the aps, too much. Also working on the project I have been toying with since first uni, and actually going to get it done this time dang it. Honest.

Date: 2017-08-22 01:49 pm (UTC)Hah, it's got to be a rule somewhere that there'll almost always be more slashfic in any fandom than you would've thought :P
Aww, happy (late) birthday to the dog!
A useful, but indirect/non-confrontational way to indicate people should clean up after themselves is to leave a sticky note saying something like "Reminder: clean up X", cause then it's blanket enough that it isn't directed to anyone, but you can also say it's for yourself if anyone accuses you of being passive aggressive.

Date: 2017-08-22 08:06 pm (UTC)It's less the amount of slash, and more that it's a kid and the villian being slashed *face palm* (slash of the grown good guy men is almost a rarely beast....which makes me sad ;) )
I think she had a good birthday, as dog brithday's go - even if her bio mum did pick on her more than normal that day (dog politics \0/)
We have tried that in the past with other issues - it progressed to making the note permanent and laminating it, which seemed to just result in people stealing forks and hiding cups full of drink in random places (I have no idea, people are weird). Add in that we've gone from being a mostly female work place to just me at the moment, with three new guys. The new boss soon to start is female, but the numbers are far in the male favour now, and given the issue, it will be rather clear who left the post it if I do that :/ So sadly, while it is a very good suggestion, it's not likely to aid....I have instead been mentioning it in passing to the longer term gents in the hope they will police their own. (Thus avoiding me getting the snark that will come from one of them, who is the type to do the 'woman traiing men' thing, urgh)
