So this week was the finale of season one...

Okay - so I adored the whole of the first half - so MUCH - then came a few episodes I didn't love so much - but still really good *nods solemnly*

The finale was really really good and sweet and heart breaking (or close to it).

The whole thing with Kahlan and Rahl in the future - and revisiting the male confessors are evil! thing was fun (though - I thought grown up Nicholas would be prettier *is shallow* - he had two pretty parents too *sighs dramatically*)

Old!Shota - LOL ('it must be around here somewhere *pout*') - I liked the arrangement between Kara and Richard (though it showed where the differences between book!mord sith and tv!mord sith are)

It was a good finale - though I will pout for a while about losing Rahl so soon and it being a bit easy *sighs* - also - season two; do they find out that the other confessors are dead? or did that only happen in the future!thatwon'thappennow?

It could've all worked a little bit better (and we could have gotten Rahl for another season *coughs*) but it was a much better adaption than others so *yay* and more importantly it was FUN - as I expected (*loves Xena*)

Didn't get Dragons though *pouts* - we had so better get them next season *meaningful look*

Two kinda issues though - firstly Jenson (sp?) who doesn't show up in the books until way way way down the line - secondly Denna

When I read 'Wizard's First Rule' again, it will be for Denna. Denna made the book for me - she is awesome and disturbed and awesome..... did I mention I love Denna? *g*
She's the strongest woman in the first book and exist in entirely her own right (unlike kahlan, who in the book, doesn't really exist without Richard, she fails the bechdel test *g*)- she's even the one who really saves the day in the end

Denna in the series was good - but she doesn't have the level of awesome of book!Denna, who broke my heart and totally owned everyone else in the book - she's broken and damaged and not quite right in the head BUT she knows it, she functions around it and because of it.
I've read a lot of books with characters who people point to and call 'strong female characters' and I've agreed - but if I ever have to give an example, book!Denna is the first on the list *nods*

There's also a lot more explanation and story behind the Mord sith that the series hasn't touched yet - and I really hope they do some day *nods*

Jenson - haven't read the book with her in it - not sure what she is in the books - but I think we could have waited to meet her - and maybe had a little bit more of the book's storyline on the boxes of orden instead (though thinking on it - I know why we didn't - they want to keep the conflict and difficulty in the central 'ship)

But yeah - the series was good - and interesting and FUN - exactly what you want from a tv series of it's type really ;)
