weaselettSo due to the horrible weather of last week (well it's been worse - but there is only so much rain a person can take in the summer) - we were spared the hell that had been expected this weekend as the Royal Lancashire Show was cancelled. Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for the people who've lost money because of it - but they also should have found a better place to move it to (it was the first year that it would have been this close).
Everyone locally was everything they could to make sure they wouldn't have to leave to over the weekend - the main issue being that there is exactly two roads around here and both of those roads were to be used as the route to the royal lancs. *shudders*
Have been watching 'Bonekickers' ok, I watched the first two episodes then mum banished from the tv this week. It's good fun for non archaeologists I have no doubt - but for archaeologists IT BURNS *coughs* - mum got fed up with the constant wincing and muttered comments. So yeah - not on my watching no more - lol.
Also made a trip to see people in town yesterday, got to have a nice hour meeting with both before it was just me and the youngling. It's weird advising someone on Uni choices and what archaeology course and uni might be best *g*
Am rereading Tamora Pierce books still - on the circle of magic books at the mo - as I finally got hold of a copy of 'The Will of the Empress'. They're still good :)
