California Pics - 4th July
Sep. 13th, 2015 08:37 pmOk, so finally some pictures from the July California holiday.
We got to San Francisco on the 3rd July - landing in San Francisco was unpleasant for me (motion sensitive me v everyone else who was grumping about the seat belts sign being on for the last hour of the flight) and we got in mid afternoon so it was just getting to our hotel and finding food.
The next day we wandered bits of Golden Gate Park, went to San Francisco Zoo (my favourite of the zoos we visited, though The Living Desert was a close second) and then took a bus up to Golden Gate bridge for the required touristy pics.
(I took half of these with my new polaroid digital/instant camera - the quality isn't terrible (I wanted to be able to print them while away to do a proper holiday scrapbook) - and half with my higher image quality camera.)
Bison Paddock

Terrapins (in the pond/lake where people were doing yoga)

Lemurs and their 4th July picnic (all the animals had some kind of 4th July food/plaything)

Polar bear post food frenzy

(I didn't take a huge number of pics in the zoo - partly because my battery died on the non-polaroid)San Francisco zoo reminded me of London Zoo (with some of the older style enclosures, like the Polar bear's)
Went to the Japanese Tea Garden, because Toby Daye :p - plus it was pretty. We didn't have time for any of the museums sadly.

And then misty Golden Gate Bridge!

And that is how we spent the 4th July ;)
