Am feeling slightly insane in the face of fic!! (I keep getting tempted by challenges and then having to remind myself that I have HiPS, three and the present 'episodes' of Stargate Pegasus, the next immortals and my remaining 98 crossovers to do *g*)
Anyhoo - BF is coming on well *fingers crossed for the friday post*
In other news I now have Singstar (and two hours were well spent being idiots with it) - which is sadly addictive - I have 'Legends' and 'Party' - now want to get '80's' and 'rocks'...
And doctor who *meep* - Here follows my review - which is completely my own opinion - not that of anyone else
Well - I have finally started to really like Martha - it took a little while - not because I miss Rose - but because it took Freema a little while to get into the swing completely (or that's how it felt to me *g*) - plus they seemed to be stuck trying to find their feet a bit in the face of having to deal with the new dynamic.
It's nice to have such a different storyline (for Doctor Who at least - I know others have done it - but they were different - different reasons etc) - and for it to be so self contained for these two episodes. You don't find out until half way through the episode what is actually going on. The teaser just kinda makes you think 'huh?' - you are given absolutely no idea as to who/what is chasing them, why and what exactly is going on.
They've dealt with the time period, they haven't over ridden the things that were the base line of society in the period (unlike most things do - through for the most part those are all american shows...) - they did this to some degree in the past - but not really ever 'enough' - in this episode they do it well and subtly. Also - typically of that period historical account (yes I have a scary thing for history - and I do believe it was Waterloo that he was reading the passage about - especially with the mention of the 'allies' *blushes*)
The watch!! (
rockboytoren has one *grins* - but his has a chain...) There's an entertaining irony about that particular choice *g*
That guy playing the student who was first 'taken' he freaky *nods* he does it well - and it's scary. As is the little girl and the balloon. The fact that she still has the balloon - *shudders*
There was a squee when Mr Smith was showing Joan his journal - I may be wrong - and I will look at screen caps/re-watch later to check on this - but I am pretty damn sure there was a Captain Jack picture *bounces* - yes it's tragic isn't it?? Then again it could be a case of seeing what I want to see *g*
The boy who took the watch - Tim L..can't spell his surname - so cute and I so badly want him to turn into mini!doctor next episode. He was very bad for stealing the damn thing - but then martha shouldn't have left it there! His gift could be interesting through - as he appears to be physic in some way - will he be mini!doctor - is he related to the doctor - or is it something else entirely?? will we even find out next episode??
I hate to say it - but I like John smith/Joan Redfern *blushes* they were just soooo sweet. still a little anti-martha/doctor through - mainly cos she could do so much better - and we don't need every companion to be his Girlfriend/to love him. I did love that slap *grins*
I would defiantly list this as my favourite episode of this season so far and I can't wait until the next episode.
EDIT - ok have looked at screen caps - it's an auton - just dressed with hair scarily like jack's *pouts* oh well :D
