I seriously lack for interesting subject lines.....but yay actually updating
So - the dog managed to cut her foot and then fuss it to baldy and now has the cone of shame to prevent her fussing it more (and antibiotics, and half a shaved foot) - she is now shamelessly playing the cone for pity, and terrorizing her fellow hounds, the cone may not survive the week....
I finally got an answer from uni peep about my proposal - now have to formulate a reply (basically we come from fundamentally different ends of the spectrum as far as how mighty archaeologists are versus the everyday person - he had some valid points, and some knee jerk noooooo aspects - which is fun. Urgh.) Upside, didn't say it was completely poo, just needs reworking on some aspects (read 'redirecting' and 'rewording more to his line of thinking' aka I need to find stuffs to reference to support my view, but have it subtle) - totally not starting PhD this year. Not at this rate.
I will have an actual desk this weekend! (I currently have stacks of cds boxes and fabric storage boxes supporting random bits of wood I found lying around the house - because I needed a flat desk ish space)
Work is.....taking a while to get used to?
Basically, for most of the last year there was two of us, doing three people's jobs. But the two of us work very well together and effectively - and we get along with not!boss and boss in a way that works.
Co-worker is however preggers and is now awaiting impending arrival - so there is cover. And we finally filled the vacant post (which is also a cover - as other person is on secondment - sooooo complicated).
I like them both, get along with new person - but cover person is returning having done the same job as my on temp basis before. They are a lovely person, but in the workplace they drive me crazy (I get frustrated a lot - so get all stressy and do random things because not exactly neurotypical and frustration = certain behaviour patterns that are not healthy....)
It's one of those, they get things done, but aren't organised, and tend to work the 'I'll just do that' theory. (Given they have only been back a few weeks, and aren't up to date on what we have....yeah).
So work is fun? I'm hoping it'll calm, and I'll get used to it. I'm also hoping to manage to get some days off (one day in April vetoed - trying for May, odds are they will veto that too from reaction today *face palms*....given I have not taken any holiday yet since christmas - and my only holiday so far is two pre booked weeks in July? Yeah, not doing a whole six months with no leave used when I have four weeks worth left to use).
Am hoping to actually manage to make a dent into word count for GYWO at some point soon....
