weaselettCut for possible hugeness and spoilery-ness for any of my listed fandom interests - Firefly, Stargate, Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Xena, Dark Angel - normal and crossover parings that I like, why, and the ones I don't/have never gotten into, and why
Stargate - non-cross pairings -
Daniel/Jack - I have always just seen this pairing - even now that the writers have gone off it sooo much - I still just see it you know? - they work in so many ways - and odd as it may sound remind me a bit of my parents - they're complete opposites in some things - but they match in others- they just work - you can't really explain why, or how - but they do - despite everything that seems to run ill between them - (yes I just compared one of my pairings to my parents - do I care - no lol) Daniel and Jack are good together, better than they are when they're apart
Daniel/Janet - second to Jack/Daniel come this pairing - and not just because of 'Rite of Passage' - oh no - it was kinda there for a while - they really care for each other and for everyone around them, rarely taking much time for themselves - they're complimenting personalities that share so much and would be truly sweet together - there was that peck on the cheek in '2010' and Janet's desperation to help Daniel somehow in Meridian - yep - if it weren't for Jack/Daniel....lol.
Sam/Teal'c - I never really considered this pairing until I found it in a fic - and then I realised how much I’d other looked it - they kinda have a Jack/Daniel vibe about them - filling in the gaps in each other ya know? But it's not a pairing I think I could write purposely - I could probably do it without thinking - but on purpose - it'd be hard and prob wouldn’t work right - it's the 'unexpected' pairing - lol.
Teal'c/Ishta - A canon pairing - wow - they share a lot these too - through Ishta is quite naive compared to the big guy, they're the kind of couple that you see around on the street - tonnes in common, have a few little fights over things - but in the end they luv each other and only want what's right for each other - she's not dreyac - but she doesn't need to be.
Sam/Pete - she likes the stalker!?! - that's what someone out there is thinking - I just know it - but yeah - I like Sam/Pete - I can see it happening - even through our poor beloved Sam is a tad repressed emotions wise - Pete has told Sam pretty much everything about himself, where as sam has only ever really touched the surface with what she tells him - wouldn't you want to know more? he's a cop, he did what he's used to - like we all do when we feel we're in over our heads, he fell back on what he's used to, what he's trained to - I can understand that on some level, through I would never do it myself - plus there's the fact the writer's were pretty much out to get him from the out - he's like an anti-mary-sue -lol- he's the kinda of guy that sam should be with - and he loves her and she loves him - or did for a while *don't think of threads, don't think* - which is how a relationship should be, right?
SG-1 Pairings the Wez does not get -
Sam/Jack - *stabs self in the eye and falls off chair whimpering* ahem. I have written these pairing children - but I don't get it - they would drive one another insane! - she wouldn't be able to stop calling him sir (I disturbed my friends with that fact - just picture it, the romantic bedroom scene...lol) as was proved in Beneath the surface - and he wouldn't stop calling her Carter - the kids would be truly damaged - they are good friends yes - perfect friends - but crossing that line into a sexual relationship? I just can't see it working for very long- I get that people can see it, cos, yeah I can see it too, but realistically, it wouldn't, not from what I can see. I understand what my little sis/BF says that you love who you love, but I also know that if you love someone - it's very hard to hold back from doing whatever it takes to be with them - Sam could have retired and stayed at the SGC ditto for jack (as has been pointed out) so yes - it there on the screen now when I’m watching - but it doesn't work, in a relationship they make each other weaker - it's been shown - that's rarely the sign of a good non-destructive relationship - but those relationships do exist and I know someone who's in one - so I have absolutely nothing against ppl who see it differently because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this is just mine.
Sam/Daniel - I see it I do - and I like it more than Sam/Jack - but my mind spins when I consider it with the characters the way it see them - as big sister and little brother, in the truest sense of the word - they (until later seasons, s8) treat each other just the way that me and my little sis/BF treat each other - and yes there are people who consider the two of us to be an item (which for those wondering, could be possible, the both of being BI and all :P) but from someone in that kind of relationship, that's how I personally see it - so it's not one of my pairings, unless I change the reality that exists.
Buffy - Non-cross -
Tara/Willow - yep - this canon pairing I get - and I could write - they go together as is proved quite surely on the screen and paper - need I go on? lol - that's my only real pairing head space for non-crossover Buffy I’m afraid - and there's none that I hate in any complete way - the others all have there ups and downs -through poor Dawn never has any real pairing to put herself to...
Angel - Non-cross -
Again only one for this fandom (haven't seen S5 so this may change) -
Cordelia/Doyle - yep these two together - I waited but never got :( - he may have been a half-demon but it didn't ever matter - from the first moment on - these two worked - and I truly miss poor Doyle, there was so much left unsaid. If only he had asked before...
Charmed - Non-cross -
Leo/Piper - need you ask - another canon relationship that I love, even through the TPTB really seem to hate these two - they have a Daniel/Jack quality going on for me - they are soul-mates, no matter what their love can't be erased, no matter what anybody does. And they really deserve a break to enjoy what they've got.
Prue/Andy - He died and I cried - it was a long time ago now - but yes these two, childhood sweethearts *giggle* He loved her and did whatever he could, asked or not, to look after her, he even died for her - and she did the best she could to return the favour. If only we'd had him for a little longer *sigh*
Firefly -
Simon/Kaylee - One of my all time favourite pairings - they are so sweet - and they so clearly care deeply for each other despite the differences between them - they are both brilliant in their own way - he fixes people - she fixes machines - she's good with people - he's really not so good - she knows exactly what she wants - he doesn't really know - they'll both do whatever it takes to protect the ones they love - they neither is so great with violence - they're like a het version of Jack/Daniel - yep - these two together - me loves.
Xena - Non-Cross -
Xena/Gabrielle - really are a femslash Jack/Daniel - the solider/the scholar, the warrior princess/the princess bard - best friends that could so easily cross that line to relationship. *sighs* yep these two work, whether you want to slash them or you don't they have a deep relationship and there's nothing that can change that.
Joxer/Meg - so sweet!!! he made an honest woman out of her and gave her the children she always wanted - she gave him everything he needed - and never really cared that he had feelings for Gabrielle as long as he was there for her. So cute, pity they didn't show us more of them - they were soo the ultimate old married couple - lol
(Joxer/Xena - a pairing I could never see - but I have a feeling resides somewhere out there in fandom *shudders* would either of them get out alive?)
Dark Angel -
Max/Logan - meep - yep - still want that film/3rd season if just to see these two happy - am sooo going to finish 'After the dark' cos me has a feeling... lol - yep, the poor things were forced apart by a virus before either of them had really realised how much they loved one another - but that didn't stop them. - They always did whatever they could to help on another, and could never face being with anyone else, even when they thought the other was dead - max couldn't leave Logan back in season 1 and he couldn't stop trying to help her despite her apparent betrayal in season 2 - true love in its finest hour.
And now the crossover Pairings (if any)- squee - lol -
Buffy Angel/Stargate -
Daniel/Tara - Daniel/Faith - yep those two are the ones I get the most, cos they just go in my head, even if Tara was only ever with willow in the series, I can see her being with Daniel. Daniel/Faith is the one I’m set with more through, because they have so much in common and would totally understand each other - she's the 'bad girl' who's turned good and is searching for redemption - he's the 'good boy' who has this huge capability for evil inside of him (Absolute Power, Need, Bloodlines) - they both face the same difficulties, have had the same harsh lives. If I had to put a single cross pairing to Daniel it would be with Faith no question.
Buffy/Jack - never could I settle with this - in my head he'd treat her like a daughter - I can't fit them in as lovers, nu-uh. It's kinda disturbing...
