1970? Wow. I thought it was, like, 1950s or something. (I've always assumed the characters are about the actors' ages. Which, admittedly, makes Tony and Rhodey easily in their 50s, even if they're probably assumed to be in their 40s. If Rhodey's an AF Colonel, he'd be at least 35 even with early promotions.
