Taking a break from my big bang work (not that I really need a break from picspaming topless!sean bean...) to post my reaction to Criminal Minds (6x22) - which is mostly shallow, but partly to do with the case ;)

And because I haven't said anything with regards to Doctor Who, Canton = awesome sauce, there needs to be more Canton. And his last scene in the second episode was PERFECT. Also, I am watching for Rory. I like Amy more now than I did, ditto River and I very much like 11, but Rory is still my favourite *smishes him*.

I didn't like the opener so much (well I adored the opening of the opener, but the episode was a bit o.O) - but I liked part two aka episode two. And, did I mention Canton is awesome? I think I did ;) - I think it may be an interesting season (especially with the split).

So the case was fairly solid (not a whole lot of profiling though) - Seaver was good, but kinda vague (if that makes sense?) - and this season seems to be the one for not actually catching the bad guys (that's two? sadly both peeps who prey on young people - I wonder if it'll come up again?) I can't actually remember that happening before.....

I had a moment, during the whole underwater scene, of thinking 'but they can't fire underwater', which I mentioned to ma, who then pointed out that a some of the ballistics in CSI involved firing a gun under water....so I had a poke around to see (after I actually thought about it, I figured it's probably possible, just not with old style original rifles ;) - Richard Sharpe couldn't even fire his rifle when it was raining)

The answer is: yes, yes you can. AND judging from this website I'm guessing at least one of his guns has an underwater firing pin assembly. Dude was SWAT once, it would make sense for his guns to be well kept and non-factory stock.

Though I giggled a little reading it - anyone watching would have known Hotch fired, cos there would have been random water spouts. And now I am going to stop being the weird geeky girl who actually looks this stuff up ;)

So Hotch got to be awesome and teach me something new *g* - I'm not best impressed by that rather rubbish attempt at CPR though, tell me Morgan, why was you counting random numbers (I think that was meant to be for effect - the way they had his voice playing over it in snatches)? and why were you doing both parts while Hotch watched? and why so high on her chest? and why didn't you check her airway or position her? *coughs*

I like the Seaver/Rossi interaction (though it is very interesting that he always seems to bond better with the girls - Emily, Jordan and Seaver mainly, JJ and Garcia lean more towards Hotch) - and the nods to his past. It's a very father daughter/uncle niece relationship thing they've got going.

Morgan got more scene time than Reid - there's been less Reid generally these last two eps. But I think it's just because the writers seem to fail at writing full ensemble. I didn't like the LEO, I kinda wanted him to be the bad guy....

Now for the shallow - how cute were Rossi and Hotch? *dances a little* - even though I still twitch at the use of soccer instead of football - but so CUTE, even if it was totally in conflict with the episode *g* - I can hope that criminal minds fandom will now deliver more Rossi/Hotch fic...right? *tries to look hopeful*

There's still kinda an issue with the writing in relation to writing an ensemble rather than a character focus (Castle, for all that it's focused on two leads, somehow manages to be more ensemble than CM has been this year *sighs*). But it's back to being better, so little bit of yay :)
