I didn't think I was going to get to see this before it came out on DVD - but luckily [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon didn't mind seeing it a second time.

Okay - so I guessed the ending a few minutes into the film - was certain after Barbossa tricked Sao Feng into believing that Elizabeth was Calypso. I still cried.

Put together 2 and 3 are a brilliant film - I couldn't ever really decide what I thought of 2 (Dead man's chest) on it's own - but now I've seen the 'end' - I'm happy.

Okay - so the beginning threw me a little - it seemed like a jump since the end of the last one - but once they got past that bit it was fine

Hector Barbossa *g* - It's another first name reveal!! (not as *gah* as the Heroes one through mind *g*) - also it made me giggle - I mean...Hector?? I liked him in this film though. Especially during the fight/wedding scene near the end.

There were a whole hell of a lot of slow mo explosions - it started to get a little silly at some points - but it worked in a lot of the places they used it (most notably during teh kiss) - and I have a feeling there is a hell of a lot of little things in that film that you only spot on a second or third viewing.

Norrington!!! *wails* I so didn't expect that. Really, out of all the bits in this film - that was the only one I didn't expect. It's all Elizabeth's fault *pouts* He had such a small part in the film. I wanted him to be a pirate still *sighs*

Will - how much like Jack did that boy wind up being in the end?? *g* And his costume was very very pretty.

Still love Bill Nighy and his Davy - such a brilliant actor.

Governor Swann :( he was always going to die wasn't he?? *pats on head* we loved you anyway. Even if your daughter is very annoying.

I loved most - the two soldiers winding up as pirates on the black pearl - end Will - the high soooo monty python voiced pirate lord 'now we go to war' *sniggers* - Keith!!! Jack's pa *grins* so perfect - and 'how's mum?' *giggles* - and insane jack *nods*

This film was sooooo scarily laced with mind games and psychology. I mean seriously - the irony of what it was that killed Will?? Norrington getting kissed by Elizabeth then killed by Will's dad??
Almost every jack scene?? (I want to know what that goat was about...I really do)

Also - that has got to be the darkest kids film of recent years - I may be wrong but woah - that beginning?? the brain thing?? DARK.

Okay - now the analysis-ness - in other words - why I guessed the end before it happened -
-The way Will has been written throughout - he was going to keep his promise to his dad - it was always going to be Will who stabbed the heart.
-Calypso - the accent they gave her and the powers - twas' obvious - not to mention that they made it obvious in the film - you get it, thinking that Will got it at the same time - then later it seems like he didn't.....
-Jack - aww he's a softie really - but he was never going to the one to take Davy's place - that would kill the franchise *g*
-Beckett - the big bully - he's fine until you fight back/he loses his gang - then he breaks

Overall a really good film *nods* - even if I spent the whole of the last five minutes muttering about wanting to see a bbbbaabbbbyy!! *coughs* that was dealt with in the end scene (oh will - you are so Jack now!!) which was sweet.

One thing - this means that Will and Elizabeth will not be in the next film when it happens - It will be Jack, Barbossa and Gibbs. And maybe Calypso will make an appearance.

There is only one thing that I have to say I have never been happy with, about all three films.
Keira Knightley.
I'm sorry - but she just doesn't do Elizabeth justice and some times it drags scenes done - she's annoying instead of strong. *sighs*
Orlando - perfect for Will - he plays the part well
Johnny - need I say anything?
Both of the boys I liked (though, Will is annoying and wimpy at times - he's meant to be that way) in all three - but I could never like Elizabeth.
Somehow however - I still manage to be a Will/Elizabeth girl - but I think it's more because of the way I think she's meant to seem. The thing is - Keira as Elizabeth....made me doubt that ending. Keira's Elizabeth would not have stayed for those 10 years. Or at least that's how it felt to me. Elizabeth as she was intended - would have - because he was always the one - it was will and no one else since the day she first saw him. There are lines that show that so well - scenes that Keira doesn't quite pull off that are meant to show it.
Keira's Elizabeth would have gone off with Jack *g*
